Project ManagementExcellence in project execution and value delivery
Selectivity and follow-through are the foundations for an effective business improvement program. Unfortunately, we have witnessed many programs were this was grossly lacking.
All implementation focus benefits from project management mentality. Establishing a clear plan, time-based, with adequate resources and agreed performance metrics.
In DAREL, we have implemented projects at various levels, from multibillion-dollar projects to effective single plant improvement plans. We can help to assess and realise the improvement potential, and use that in the portfolio hi-grading and divestment/acquisition strategy.
Over their long and distinguished career, the DAREL executives have delivered multi-billion dollar projects in a range of critical leadership positions. Therefore, we are very comfortable to take full project management responsibility.
In DAREL we are bringing together some critical frontend development skills, and we have been selecting opportunities using rapid screening approaches, thereby successfully completing high value acquisitions and divestments.
The DAREL executives have personally experienced the power of well-defined project management and control framework. A framework that truly empowers project teams, but the same time defines the minimal critical controls around key risks.
In systems engineering, emphasis is placed on the very precise and unambiguous definition of the required functionality, and stakeholder needs. In combination in value engineering does this create a strong framework around minimum scope and competitiveness.
We offer critical frontend development and project management skills.
Over their long and distinguished career, the DAREL executives have delivered multiple billion-dollar projects in a range of critical leadership positions.
Therefore, we are very comfortable to take full project management responsibility, either for physical technical projects or equally for business improvement / change management programs.
However, we can also provide a much more tailored support and equally comfortable to assist as a part-time project director, thereby coaching one or multiple project teams and helping them “just in time” through critical decision-making and project planning phases.
Helping with portfolio hi-grading, selection and development
In DAREL we are bringing together some critical frontend development skills. Our executives have been working as the most senior development leads in major oil and gas companies.
They have been selecting opportunities using rapid screening approaches, thereby successfully completing (ultra) high value acquisitions and divestments. They can assist in strategic portfolio hi-grading, with deep understanding of the market, oil and gas fundamentals and commercial / value context.
They can support or lead the full acquisition process, from the initial deal identification all the way through due diligence into final deal closure. They also have experience in setting up or even untangling joint ventures.
Although the prime experience sits within the oil and gas sector, the portfolio management tools and mindset are typically very transferable and can also be applied outside the oil and gas industry. The processes have been successfully applied also for the capital raise of a small entrepreneurial start-up.
Project Controls Framework
Setting up a well-defined project management -and control framework.
The DAREL executives have personally experienced the power of well-defined project management and control framework.
A framework that truly empowers project teams, but the same time defines the minimal critical controls around key risks, where project teams benefit from additional oversight and expertise leverage, as historic performance data shows that this were they often have leaked value or took suboptimal decisions.
Some our executives were part of the co-creation team, both in a delivery, and in a governance type position and as such very familiar with the dilemma’s, decisions and the ultimate outcome.
Systems -and Value Engineering
Adopting a structured approaches to create more competitively scoped solutions
Our executives have typically adopted structured approaches to create more competitively scoped solutions. In recent years, this often followed a systems engineering type approach. In systems engineering, a lot of emphasis is placed on the very precise and unambiguous definition of the required functionality, and stakeholder requirements.
This is very similar to opportunity framing. However, this structure is then further expanded, in a requirement database, to the appropriate right level of engineering abstraction. If functionality can be satisfied with standards solutions, the engineering does not have to progress any further. In this way, design solutions, always have a clear line of sight to the actual requirements, with no scope creep and minimal bespoke engineering.
Similar to the well-established value engineering practice, it creates improved design transparency, hard verification, more cost and resource efficient designs.
The DAREL executives are trained value engineering facilitators and have worked in setting up systems engineering methodologies
