The DAREL executives have the prime area of experience in the energy sector. This sector is transforming fast, driven by climate change policies, world population growth demand and hydrocarbon resource scarcity. Just in the last 5 years, the “old” energy sector has been completely turned upside down and the “new” energy developments have seen further breakthroughs. Moving from molecules to electrons, central to distributed, and “dumb” to smart solutions.

In DAREL we believe in the necessity and the inevitability of the energy transition. But we are also realistic, and realise that this transformation requires very significant resources, leadership stamina and time. We like to act as catalysts, and accelerators where we can, and are very keen to get involved in new energy projects. We are also convinced that energy efficiency should be a top priority for all businesses. Sustainable -and efficient solutions are typically also simpler, more cost effective and easier to maintain.

The tools that we created can help with benchmarking energy efficiency of plants and processes in the industry. We work together with Rocky Mountain Institute, a well-established think tank in this space, to help create whole system solutions that drive down energy footprint. We typically are very passionate to work on energy efficiency and energy transition solutions. For innovators and start-ups, we may do this at no cost.

We can advise on effective measures and policy, both for private and government bodies.

We can muster the necessary expertise around Carbon Capture and Storage projects as these will be necessary for long-term decarbonisation and to avoid increasing CO2 emissions during the energy transition phase. Creating high-performance teams and business environments requires strong focus on diversity, organisational clarity and team alignment.

We have organised many senior leadership training events, as well as provided personal coaching to senior executives. We have purposely invited organisational effectiveness executives in our partnership to ensure that the behavioural and human aspects of our consultancy work will never be under represented.

Over the years we have driven many business improvement processes, making sure that in doing so we stayed focused on the end result, making bottom-line impact. We thereby realise fully that the change management aspects always demand most attention and strong leadership role modelling, especially in a complex organization.

We have also come to appreciate the need for upfront definition of key metrics, followed by hard verification and regular tracking, to measure success and make adjustments where necessary. We apply a strict project management mentality to business improvement processes, with clear objectives, definition of success, sponsorship, defined accountabilities, and progress tracking in place.
